Itinerary

  1. Day 1 – Discovering Iceland’s Wild West

    Departure from Reykjavík

Begin your journey with pickup from your hotel or the nearest bus stop in Reykjavík. As the minibus heads out, enjoy views of Mount Esja and the tranquil Hvalfjörður fjord, known for its deep blue waters and dramatic scenery. You’ll then continue toward the stunning Borgarfjörður region, where the adventure truly begins.

    Deildartunguhver Hot Spring

Your first stop is at Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. Watch as steaming water bubbles up from the earth, creating a natural misty spectacle surrounded by vivid green moss.

    Historic Reykholt

Next, visit Reykholt, one of Iceland’s most important cultural sites. Once home to the medieval writer Snorri Sturluson, this small village holds centuries of history and Icelandic heritage within its quiet landscape.

    Hraunfossar & Barnafoss Waterfalls

Journey onward to two enchanting waterfalls — Hraunfossar, where clear streams flow through a dark lava field, and Barnafoss, a bright blue torrent cutting through a narrow canyon. Both offer unforgettable photo opportunities and showcase Iceland’s raw natural power.

    Evening in Stykkishólmur or Borgarnes

End your day in the charming coastal towns of Stykkishólmur or Borgarnes. Colorful houses line the harbors, and peaceful views of the sea set the perfect tone for a relaxing evening. Enjoy a cozy overnight stay with breakfast included.

  2. Day 2 – Wonders of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula

    Gerðuberg Cliffs & Ytri-Tunga Beach

The day starts with a visit to the geometric Gerðuberg basalt cliffs, a fascinating wall of perfectly shaped rock columns. Continue to Ytri-Tunga Beach, a rare golden-sand shore where you might spot seals lounging by the waves.

    Arnarstapi Fishing Village

Travel along the rugged coastline to Arnarstapi, a charming village framed by sea cliffs and basalt arches. Walk along the cliffs to see dramatic ocean views and hear the roar of the Atlantic crashing below.

    Djúpalónssandur Black Beach

Next, explore Djúpalónssandur, a hauntingly beautiful black pebble beach surrounded by lava formations. You’ll pass through paths of ancient lava rock to reach the shore, once used by local fishermen centuries ago.

Snæfellsjökull Glacier & Víðgelmir Lava Cave

Throughout the day, admire the mighty Snæfellsjökull Glacier, the legendary setting of Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth. If you’re up for more adventure, explore the Víðgelmir Lava Cave, one of Iceland’s largest and most stunning underground formations.

Kirkjufell Mountain & Return to Reykjavík

Before heading back, stop at Kirkjufell, Iceland’s most photographed mountain, standing gracefully beside a series of small waterfalls. On the return drive to Reykjavík, keep an eye on the night sky—if you’re lucky, the Northern Lights may dance above you, creating the perfect finale to your unforgettable Icelandic journey.
