Itinerary
Pickup and Arrival · Duration: 15 Minutes
If you booked a private tour with pickup, you will first meet your driver at the selected pickup location in Reykjavik. Depending on the tide, you'll begin your adventure upon arrival at the dive site, either Bjarnagjá or Garður. This journey ensures a personalized experience right from the start.
Briefing and Gear-Up · Duration: 1 Hour
Your guide will provide a thorough briefing and help you prepare for the dive, which takes about an hour. Once fully dressed, you will go to the entry point for a weight check upon entering the water. This preparation ensures your safety and comfort for the dive.
First Dive · Duration: 30-45 Minutes
Considering the unique marine environment, spend 30-45 minutes exploring the underwater site. After the dive, exit the water, take off your equipment, and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies to warm up. Use this time to chat with your guide, ask questions, and review the photos taken during the tour.
Transit to Second Dive Spot · Duration: 20-30 Minutes
Take a short drive of about 20-30 minutes to the next dive spot. Your guide will give another briefing and help you gear up again. Proceed to the entry point and perform a weight check before starting the second dive.
Second Dive · Duration: 30-45 Minutes
Spend another 30-45 minutes diving in a new location, experiencing different underwater scenery. After exiting the water, take off your equipment and enjoy another round of hot chocolate and cookies to warm up. This is another opportunity to chat with your guide, ask questions, and review more photos from the tour.
Return to Reykjavik · Duration: 15 Minutes
If you have booked a tour with pickup, your driver will drop you off at your location in Reykjavik. This concludes your private diving adventure, leaving you with memorable experiences and photos to cherish.

Know before you go
- Be a certified diver with PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification.
- Have dry suit diving certification and a logged dry suit dive within two years of the dive tour date, or have at least ten logged dry suit dives within two years of the Silfra tour date, with written proof from a diving instructor.
- Complete the Diving Medical Statement by reading, signing, and following the online directions.
- Obtain a doctor's signature on the Diving Medical form if they are 60 or older.
- Sign the liability release form at the start of the dive tour.
- Be between 150cm and 200cm in height.
- Weigh between 45kg and 120kg.
- Fit within the dry suit size chart.
- Be at least 17 years old; a legal guardian's signature is required for participants under 18.
- Be physically fit.
- Communicate effectively in English.
- Be prepared to wear a tight and constricting dry suit.
- Not be pregnant.
- Eat well before the tour.

Q: Do I need to have previous diving experience?
Ans: Yes, this tour is only for certified divers. You must be a PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent and have dry suit diving certification, or at least ten logged dry suit dives within two years of the tour date.
Q: What should I bring with me for the tour?
Ans: Please bring your dive certifications and proof of dry suit diving certification or ten logged dry suit dives within two years. Also, wear long underwear and thick socks to stay warm during the dives, and dress appropriately for the weather.
