Itinerary
Arrival and Check-In · Duration: 15 Minutes
Arrive at the Davíðsgjá meeting point 15 minutes before the tour starts to check in with your guides. This initial stage ensures you are ready and prepared for the adventure ahead. Meet your guide, who will assist you throughout the tour.
Group Division and Briefing · Duration: 1 Hour
You will be divided into three groups, each assigned to one guide. The guide will provide a detailed briefing and assist you in gearing up, ensuring everyone is comfortable and prepared. This process takes about an hour, ensuring all participants are ready for the dive.
Entry and Dive Preparation · Duration: 10 Minutes
Make your way to the entry point, where you will perform a weight check upon entering the water. This step ensures your diving gear is adjusted correctly for a safe dive. It’s a crucial part of the preparation before you start exploring underwater.
Diving Experience · Duration: 30-45 Minutes

- Must be a certified diver at the PADI Open Water Diver level or equivalent.
- Must have dry suit diving certification and a logged dry suit dive within two years of the Silfra tour date OR at least ten logged dry suit dives within two years, with written proof from a diving instructor.
- Must read, sign, and follow the directions on the Diving Medical Statement.
- If age 60 or older, a doctor must sign the Diving Medical form off.
- You must sign the liability release form at the start of the Silfra dive tour.
- Must be between 150cm and 200cm in height.
- Must weigh between 45kg and 120kg.
- It must fit within the dry suit size chart.
- Must be at least 17 years old (signature of legal guardian required for participants under 18).
- Must be physically fit.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
- You must be ready to wear a sometimes tight and constricting dry suit.
- You must not be pregnant.
- You must eat well before the tour.
